This
presiding deity established for herself a great reputation that he who worships
her passionately ever complains of failure in wordly life, as success comes to
him as sure as water flows down from higher level to lower. And she is the
august amsa of Lord Siva's Jwalamurti, one of his ashtamurtis. She is called
Bhavani also. She is balipriya with a difference. She resents Narabali, but
receives hen or goat as offerings. She is visited by thousands and thousands
during the Sundays of Adi masa, when the whole place reverberates with
devotional activities of several kinds. She bestows grace and relieves from any
type of torment affecting her children. Here is a strange tradition followed
since the beginning-women worshippers visit the Mother with neem leaf sarees and
circumambulate the giarbha griha with utmost devotion. They redeem the vows
taken by offering special prayer service. Daily worship is carried with rituals
