  SATYAMANGALAM - PANNARIAMMAN TEMPLE

Regarded as one of the Sakti-Peeths, this temple has many awesome features that make the presiding deity stand part from the rest of Sakti temples. The idol is swayamvyakta, not made by sculptors. The proportions and features are quite attractive and they transport the beholder to ethereal world at a mere sigh itself. Built in the Dravidian architectural style, it possesses all essential parts, like sturdy prakaras, tall gopurams, spacious courtyards, provided with ardha tnandap, mahamandap,garbhagriha etc. Munificent royal patronage peeps at every frame of the temple and wrings homage from the visitors to sculptors and builders. There are many mini-shrines for the adorable deities like Vinayaka, Madhaveswar, Mariamma, Poomayyaraya etc. Many commendable traditions were built up here and among them angapradakshanam and tonsorial operation top the list. Almost all perform these and derive immense emotional satisfaction. The Mother cures several types of diseares affecting nerves, eyes etc. She has a passion for blessing the pregnant women and showers boons the for safe delivery of healthy, progressive praise worthy progeny, when worship is made fervently. As adoration is proved productive of bliss and bright future there is an unending streams of women throughout the year. The annual festival falling in Panguni month is a gala occasion when thousands visit and go home with bright facts indicating of the fulfilment of their desires.

It lies about 8 km. off Satyamangalam on the way to Mysore and is accessible by four wheelers.
