  TIRUVARUR - NILOTPLALAMBIKAI

Here is an ancient temple with difference, perching on a much coveted place in temple history of India. Strangeness and vastness greet at every stage and transports the visitors to ethereal world, if the uniques galore are narrated one after another. It claims the country's biggest temple car fitted with gigantic stone wheels. And its huge dimensions and massive weight require more than a minimum of 80,000 people to draw it during the Rathotsava festival. And the temple Pushkarini is so big that it contains a small islet amidst which stands a temple installed with Naduvanayanar icons, along with Naganathar and Yogambigai. Boats are available to reach it and the Navagrahas set up there lie side by side in a square shaped mandap, unlike their instrallion in all temples surprises the visitors. The presiding deity of this temple is Tyagaraja Swamy going by the popular name of Tirumulanathar. It is called the prithvisthala of the panchabhutasthalas of eternal fame. The adage eulogizes that born in this holy temple town, one attains mukti just as dying in Kasi and seeing Natarajnar at Chidambaram.
