This
is a cave temple built in an odd way. The darsan of this august Durga Devi is
possible only through a window and it forms the front portion of the entrance.
Inside the garbhagriha there is adequate space to sit and meditate on the
Mother. The serenity and sublimity pervading here seduces everyone to meditate
for a while. And the Mother's icon is a piece of supreme artistry of the
sculptor that keep at rest all the wavering instincts and inspire one to pay
obeisance by closing the eyes and joining of hands. Those who start any
enterprise in these parts visit and pray for the grace of the Mother. And he
achieves what is aspired for. The image of Mother is made of black granite and
its proportions and gestures are quite attractive and awe-some. There is a
rivulet flowing nearly the temple and it serves sever this and priests for
several purposes. There lies in front of it a big cave with wide opening serving
visitors for rest and meditation.
This
lies 5 km off Chunar railway station, accessible by four wheelers.
