Navadurga yatra is undertaken during Navaratri festival and it lasts for 9 days.
The temples visited are very holy and they include Shailaputri temple lying on
the bank of Varuna river, Brahmacharini temple on Durga Ghat; Chandra Ghanta
near Durga Ghat; Kushmanda Durga on Durga kund; Skandamata popular as Vajeswari,
near Jaithpura; Katyayini neat Sankat Ghat Atmaveereswar and Kaalaratri temple
in Kalika street; Maha Gowri popularly known as Annapuran Devi on Dasuswamedhat
Ghat, and Siddhi Dhatri in the Siddhamata street.
As
there are extremely popular due to their antiquity and legendary divinity, the
yatris undertake with unparalleled fervour deeming them fetch mukti and heighten
bhakti making lives overflowing with rakti.
