  RAMNAGAR - DURGA MANDIR

After completion, the ceremony of installation of Durga Panchayatan was conducted with matchless grandeur and unprecedented fanfare, attended by the country's best luminaries of both secular and spiritual realms. It was on that auspicious day - 12th May, 1912 soon after vigrah pratishtapan, he gave a village to the temple to meet maintenance cost. Would the Mother remain silent without granting anything to such humanist builder? The word goes round that he was richly rewarded by the Mother. The temple thus came into existence needless to say is unique in every respect and raises the hands of the visitor at its very mention even. Though this is of recent in construction, there is a fine blend of modernity and antiquity. It is a dazzling diamond in the diadem adorning the head of the king of Kasi.

It lies on the eastern bank of Ganges and is in the heart of Ramnagar, accessible by boat, train, bus from Banaras, the premier pilgrim city of India.
