This
renowned holy Triputi-with Daivam, Kshetram and Thirtham raised the glory of
the ancient city and is luring pilgrims from time immemorial. It is enshring in
its bounds several temples dedicated to all denominations of gods and goddesses
of Hindu pantheon. This sacred shrine installed with Mother Durga was built in
Nagara architectural style in the eighteenth century. Its the main spire rising
over several similar spires around looks extremely superb and feasts the eyes
with its beauty and divinity. Its uniqueness lies in the building of five small
sikharas at their base that converge into one at the top. And it has been
interpreted, rightly too, that it is symbolising this world made of five
elements and ultimately into Brahma, the Supreme Reality. It is largely visited
both by locals and pilgrims round the year. On account of large number of
monkeys moving about freely and causing menace to the visitors, it is popular as
Monkey Temple. Being accessible by all kinds of vehicles, devotees throng and
overflow its compound every day particularly in mornings and evenings. Regular
worship is offered with great devotional fervor. Annual festivals lure lakhs of
devotees who celebrated them with great pomp and splendour.
It
lies within the city limits and 8 km off Viswanth Mandir, accessible by all
kinds of vehicles.
