KAPILA'S ADORATION 

Kapila Maharshi, as a mark of his boundless devotion adored Ganesh with the presentation of the unique jewel. Since then, Ganesh is called variously as Chintamani Vinayaka, Kapila Vinayaka and Sumukha Vinayaka. These episodes took place near a Kadamba tree and the village that grew up later was named Kadamba thirtha. The pushkarini and the kshetra became very famous; for, it was ministering to the needs of victims of different types. Leprosy is cured, if one bathes in the thirtha and offers worship to this merciful Chintamani Vinayaka. King Rukmangada was cured of his dreadful leprosy, and Devendra rid of the curse of Goutama here. Brahma regained stability after his prayers to this Omnipotent Vinayaka, when once his mind lost its poise. This place grants manifold blessings to the, adorers.
