Though regular or occasional worship is not performed, its former glorious
position is luring tourists. Particularly the yatris visiting the world-renowned
Amarnath cave, where Maheswar is giving darsan in His waning and waxing phases
miss not this unique temple. And it is near, one of the stops called Brijbhar on
the way to the cave. Pilgrims offer prayers during their stop over. Devout
sanatanists perform sraddhas to their manes. Would the sandal wood lose its
fragrance, although it is burning? Is not old regarded as gold? The Pratyaksha
Daivam, eventhough enshrined in an old dilapidated mandir, is worshipped with
unparalleled devotion.
It
is on the way to Amarnath and near Brijbihar and accessible by walk only. Due to
extreme unfavourable weather conditions, yatra should be made in groups with
elaborate prior preparations for food and clothing of special type .that can
stand intense cold and unpredictable climate. But the yatra confers merit beyond
expectation, rather out of proportion to the strenuous walking across snow bound
region.
