ARASAVILLI

According to legends it was built by Devendra under extraordinary circumstances. It happened--once he went to kailas for the darsan of Lord without prior appointment. Nandi, keeping guard the entrance did not permit and insulted him, when the latter displayed his powers. Under the heavy burden of humiliation he fell down and swooned on his way back home. There appeared then, the Sun God-Karmasakshi and consoled his timely. His mental anguish vanished forthwith. To perpentuate his gesture, he built a temple here. The icon of the Sun-God is made of black granite and measures 6 feet in height, 3 feet in breadth and a feet and a half in thickness.
