The
Kunti Madhavaswamy temple found adjacent is one of the five
dedicated of its type to Sri Krishna, called here Madhava. Mother
Kunti installed the icon in this place, so it is called Kunti
Madhavaswamy. Hence double sanctity. This august deity was
worshipped by Vyasa, Valmiki Agastya in the past. On account of its
associations with the most worshipful deities, the kshetra gained a
high place in the scriptures.
Annual
festivals are celebrated for different deities at different times,
like Maghabahula Ekadasi for Kukkuteswara, Suddha Ekadasi for Kunti
Madhava, Palguna for Kumaraswamy and Karthikamasa for
Venugopalaswamy. Pay a visit and earn a merit.
