Now
comes the proof of Sri Rama's boundless compassion for bhaktas which
transcends man-made distinctions, like caste, religion, race, region
etc. After several years of Tippu's humiliating retreat, there came
here one British Officer by name Thomas Harvey Baber. He was an
Englishman with a difference. He used to respect the traditions of
the people, he ruled over. Divinity embedded in his heart and was
guiding him in all his endeavors. People held him in high esteem. Hi
was regularly visiting the temple and offering prayers as he
realised the glory of Sri Rama.
Besides,
he was standing and saluting the Lord whenever he passed by the
temple. His religiosity was commendable and the archamurti was
highly elated at his attitude. And provided an eminent place in his
heart, being a rare English bhakta. Once he was galloping fast on
his horse before the temple, impelled by the urgency of his presence
at a far off place. So forgot to pay obeisance to the Lord as his
wont. Ail on a sudden, the horse came to a sudden stop - it was
immobilized - could go neither forward or backward. Grand! A noble
breed endowed with divine traits.
