They embody an earnest prayer to
the Lord to bless the singers with worthy, virtuous life- partners to
lead an exemplary life. Andal sang these devotion-charged hymns with
her mates, who regularly offered worship in the temple early in the mornings.
She worshipped Lord Ranganatha with unparalleled piety, conceiving him as her husband and
ultimately merged into his murti at Srirangam.
It is believed that she is
an incarnation of Mahalakshmi, found as a lovely baby in the holy garden
of Perialwar; who brought her up as his daughter. She is ayoniya.
