A BIRD'S-EYE VIEW OF SOME SHRINES SUPERB

This temple town lying at a distance of 79 km off Madurai is accessible by train and bus too.  Here there are two shrines, one-Andal sannidhi; another-Vadabadrasayana temple. The Moolavar of this temple is called Vatapatrasayee.  Its walls are adorned with the beautiful pictures of the Lords of the hundred and eight divyadesas.  A unique feature. The sacred garden where Andal was picked up, named Tulasi mada lies between the Andal and Perumal koils.

Two Annual festivals-Adi, occurring in the month of Adi and Margaii the Holy bath festival are celebrated with great pomp when lakhs of people turn up and participate in ritual worship with great spiritual ardor.
