Saraikella
- Radhakrishna Mandir
The
building of Jagarnath temple at Jagarnath ushered in a new epoch in
the religious history of Bihar, particularly in the present Ranchi
district. Realizing the potentialities of congregational worship in
temples, many philanthropists entered the arena and started erecting
many temples dedicated to several gods and goddesses. Their zeal for
spiritual regeneration of the tribals, who formed the majority of
population in this region is highly commendable and deserves
wholehearted veneration. It was just at the time of building
Jagarnath temple, many devout, rich and religious minded people
built an elegant mandir at Saraikella of Singbhum district and
installed the much popular and widely adored Radha Krishna image
with unparalleled religious fervour. Its religious activities won
the admiration of the people of this area and they are participating
in all the devotional activities, particularly during the annual
functions, and are making them the national events. Their lavish
expenditure for the celebration of festivals and active
participation brought many colourful laurels to the state. The
devotional consciousness ignited by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu touched the
pinnacle of glory by many temples built from time to time in this
region inhabited by tribals mostly.
It
lies in the Chota Nagpur district of Bihar, accessible by four
wheelers from Ranchi.
