And for ardent theists it is haven drawing to the lotus feet of the
archamurti Nilamadhava, supposed to be the earlier form of Lord
Jagannath of Puri. There are certain unique features here attributed
to the mysticism manifested in the demonstration of I3hagawan's
sports to emancipating the duhkartis.
In
the sanctum sanctorum, there greets the eyes of the visitors the
soul-lifting phenomenon of secretion of water from the feet of the
icon of Nila Madhavaswamy - the presiding deity of the temple. the
secretion is neither intermittent, nor once in a blur moon, but a
permanent feature that enthralls the pure religionists. Moreover,
the unique sight of the movement of archamurti - Lord Siddheswar
from north to south in consonance with the sunrise and sunset
compels ardent visitation and indispensable vision. These phenomena
have been in vogue and continuing uninterruptedly over centuries.
Hence great attraction for the theists.

picnickers, who fill their eyes and minds with scenic beauty, and
evergreen memories, but return with souls in their former vacant
state. It is standing on the right bank of river Mahanadi.
