Tawi - Raghunathji Mandir
Although this famous shrine goes by the name
of Raghunathji Mandir, it has given asylum to
the Lord of Kailas, whose shrines are occupying
more than three fourths of this campus. On
account of the unique installation of Sahasrakotilingas in more than four huge halls
and other rare lingas like crystal etc. one feels
that the Raghunathaji s splendour is obscured,
but when enters the sanctum sanctorum of
Raghnathji's mandir, the superb artistry of the
elegant archamurtis dispels his delusion; for,
the size, shape, decoration of the Lord with his
dearest gives eyeful darsan and lifts the souls
instantaneously.
The famous Raghunathji temple is the crest
jewel of the city, to be precise, a dazzling
diamond in the diadem adorning the Bharat
Mata. The huge Siva lingas made of saligram
and crystal, installed in befitting mandirs are a
feast to the eyes. The very concept of Sahastra
Koti lingas installed in one place defies
description, but when seen here, the visitors slip
into oblivion, as it is a wonder of wonders. No
where one can see or hear such marvel. So it
has only to be seen than read. The images of
Raghunath, Ganapati etc. are worthy of
adoration. A visit is a must to every theist
belonging to any sect for that matter.
It lies in the capital of Jammu Tawi, accessible
by train and bus.
