Wacha, G. Subrahmania Aiyar T. Anandacharlu and others. They were our earliest freedom fighters.
The objects of the first Congress were moderate. They were to promote friendship among the
workers of the party; to remove caste and race prejudices from the country; bring about
national unity; record the opinions of the educated on the problems of the day, and find
out a method to carry out these objectives.
The first Congress passed nine resolutions.
From that time, the Congress has been meeting every year. |
