| Then Parikshit
restored the lost legs of the bull and nourished the cow back to health. Once Parikshit had been to the forest to hunt. Becoming thirsty, he went to the nearby ashrama of rishi Samika looking for water. But there were none except the rishi who sat in samadhi. When a rishi sits in samadhi he won't know or hear anything happening. Not getting water and seeing the rishi not replying even after shouting the king became angry. Parikshit lifted a dead snake lying near with his bow and threw it round the neck of the unconscious rishi. Even then the rishi did not wake, so Parikshit returned to the capital. |
