PARIKSHIT |
|
On receiving
the message, Parikshit at once knew that his end was near. So he crowned his son
Janamejaya as emperor and retired to the banks of the Ganga to spend his remaining days in
thoughts of God.
A strong guard was placed around the king to, prevent snakes coming near him.
Learning of the curse on the king, many rishis came and offered their company to the king.
Of them was Suka, son of rishi Vyasa. He was a great sage.
Suka sang before Parikshit the great spiritual poem called the Bhagavatam in praise of
Lord Hari. |
