PRACTICAL VEDANTA, THE REAL
MESSAGE OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA |
|
It means
independence, free thinking, nobility of character, and respect for the Divine in
everyone. It means truthfulness, compassion, integrity, and not compromising with the
forces of ignorance and injustice.
According to practical Vedanta none of us are limited or weak. None of us are fallen and
in need of redemption. We are not sick, or in need of comfort or healing. We are not this
little body or limited mind. We are not even souls, or children of God. We are God. No, we
are greater than God. We are, each one of us, the Self of all beings. This entire
universe of matter and mind is no more than our shadow. It is beneath our dignity as the
master of the universe to be dominated by anger, fear or desire, to want anything or to be
the slaves of anyone's opinion. |
