The
King encouraged by this, enquired how to meet that great man. Saint Bhoganath, who was
present there in disguise, promised to bring Karur Tevar down to the place and sent to
Tevar an intimation in a letter tied up to a crow's leg. In obedience to the
Saint'scommands Karur Tevar arrived at the temple.
By the power of his penance he satisfactorily
installed the Shivalinga in the Avadayar using his spit Tamboolam as the adhesive paste.
This is fully explained in Karur Puranam. The name of Raj Rajeswaramudayar was given to
this great Linga. It has also other names such as Adavallan Dakshinameruvitankan and
Peruvudayar. Goddess is known by the name Ulagamuzhududayal.
