Temples,
the places of worship are designed and built in accordance with Vastu and Silpa
sastras motivated by ideal of emancipating the manavali buried in the transitory
pleasures. They are built on grandiose plan with unusual dimensions and
splendiferous adornments. Their sculptured architecture and location mesmerize and raise the hands of even the atheists and iconoclast in veneration. The
vastness and loftiness of each part beginning with the mahadwar piercing into
the sturdy prakara surmounted by tall tower, followed by spacious courtyards,
several huge halls, going by the names of mahamantap, mukhamantap, Rangamantap,
garbhagriha and countless niches and mini-shrines for parivardevatas certainly
evoke wonder and instil bhakti instincts in the minds of visitors. Going round
watching each part of the alaya sanctified by the presence of adorable icons and
aesthetic embellishments itself a voyage into spiritual world, that brings in a
marvellous change in every visitor. The presiding deities installed with
elaborate rituals by the agama pundits lift the soul of visitor and thereby reform
the evil minds to a. great extent.
