standing posture. According to legend the sitting Nandi was so swept off by the
eulogy sung by a Siva bhakta, that it stood up and listened to it with rapt
attention through out the recitation. It went on for a long time. And in
oblivion, it forgot to take its normal sitting posture. So it is now in standing
position, nowhere such representation in any temple is found in India and
abroad.
