The
construction of this shrine is quite odd and evokes wonder. One example. Here
the Mother's sannidhi is just opposite the Lord's in contravention to the normal
tradition of Mother's shrine lying to the right side of her lord's sannidhi.
Another awe - inspiring feature that this shrine possesses is the existence of
around stone called Vattapaarai situated to the northern side of the Mother's
sannidhi. It is worshipped as Mother with unusual fervor; for, there is a stone
image of Nagendra with its hood spread out over the head of Mother's image. She
is very powerful and the temples glory lies on this. People fed up with delay in
the court cases visit this Vattapariamma and plead for adjudication. Being
infinitely powerful, the lairs and defaulters confess their guilt before her and
readily show willingness to abide by the conditions in the documents they set
their hands to. If any hard-core culprit resorts do dishonest means, sure a
snake comes out from the shrine and bites him at once. This practice is gaining
reputation for the temple, and is going by the name of Satyasthapana kshetra.
Location:
The temple lies near Mayuvaram, Tamilnadu accessible by four wheelers.
