URAIYUR - TOPLESS GARBHAGRIHA

The archamurti made of black granite is quite imposing and awesome. The facial features and other proportions are so artistically made that devotees raise their hands in veneration when come into her sight. The garbhagriha is quite spacious, but without roof as such the statue is exposed to the vagaries of elements round the year. Periodical festivals are celebrated with great pomp and splendor and the daily worship with rituals due.

Location: It is accessible by town bus from either bus stand or railway junction and only 2 km off both Trichy town bus stand and railway station.
