OF THE VEDAS
Thus argued the theist when the other demanded proofs
But the atheist like lunatic retorted with reproofs
Yet to convince, from the Vedas the theist cited
Many a quotation, alas! the goal was not sighted.
The scriptures are the repositories of knowledge holy
The Vedas are the authority the world believes them wholly
For, they embody every thing to be known and possessed
Mark it! under divine inripiration they were composed "
" Being poetry, they are 'the mother of lies and nurse of abuse'
They magnify gods with abstract nouns only to confuse
Composed by Brahmins, they embody many a vested interest
Hence must be thrown in to dust-bin as objects of distrust.
I can't believe any one of them, pray a single line
Swear by whatever you like, I can disprove your line
Science ushers in better progress than that dirty stock"
Thumped the atheist heavily much to his opponent's shock,
