MAMA DEVO VIGRAHAVAN DHARMAH

Plunged she into the fire-pit with tears of joy flowing 
That converted the fire-pit into a lake of milk over flowing 
As the God of Fire was extolling her exemplary purity 
she knelt at the holy feet of Rama in token of piety.

Overpowered by her impeccable chastity, ³⁰Sri Rama 
Lifted and hugged fondly his divine alter ego - ³¹Sri Rama 
Resting the bead on his ³²vaksha - her own original seat 
She felt, that she rejoined at last her eternal retreat.

Then heard there to all, some words immortal 
Deserving to be treasured up by every mortal
'³³Mama sadhvi parapurusha chandra kamalini' Rama uttered 
To which, 'Mama devo Vigrahavan Dharmah' Sita muttered.

Listening ³⁴vanarasena and ³⁵Lanka praja in ecstasy danced 
To the fanfare and flowers rained by gods, as they pranced.
