THE THIRTHAS

" Without division. So let us move to the taxis. This is called Devathirtha and whoever takes bath in it on the auspicious Monday during in Sravana Nakshatra and Thursday in Pushyami Nakshatra will be rid of all sins committed consciously or unconsciously and enjoys long life, good progress along with enviable merit of going to heaven on death. More over, he gains the merit of Annandata, if he feeds the hungry on this day. Now sip its sacred water and sprinkle a few drops on your head. This is another thirtha going by the name of Papanasani Thirtha. Those who bathe in it on Sunday, falling on Saptami of Pushyami and Hasta Nakshatras are freed from sins committed in a crore of janmas. Here too please sip and sprinkle before going to Aakaasaganga Thirtha. With a single bath in this sacrosanct water, one attains moksha. As this water is deemed equal to the heavenly river water, it is taken for abhishekam purpose every day. During the rainy season, its myriad charms enchant the visitors and a dip exhilarates beyond words. So the ritual is to be repeated. This one is called Pandava thirtha and a bath in it on Dvadasi aadivara in the month of Vaisakha masa, it bestows bliss, both during his sojourn here on this earth and there in heaven after death. So ditto. In this Thumabura thirtha, if one bathes on fill moon day during Palguna masa, he is freed from future births. So sipping after sprinkling in a must.
