It is indeed a vast well-built independent temple adorned
with beautiful sculpture and architectural designs. Built in the
Dravidian architectural model, it contains, garbhagriha, antarala,
mukhamandapa and mahamandapa etc. The adorable statue of
the Mother in standing posture is a grand model of superb sculpture. It is about ten feet in height and the facial features
are well-chesilled to perfection that wring veneration. Close
observation reveals that the head of the icon is leaning to her
right a little bit to receive Sivapanchakshari from her Lord. The
sculptor's craftsmanship merits mention and corroborates the
episode enshrined in the legend. The artistic decoration with
dazzling diamond jewels and colourful garlands heighten the
splendour of the Mother and bend heads in veneration at first
sight itself. Indeed it is a great feast to the eyes to see her
draped in the Swarna Kavacha and golden saree on Fridays.
Devout bhaktas avail this, by fixing their visit on this auspicious
day. As she is renowned for granting liberal boons, soulful
prayers are offered with several
rituals. A unique sight that remains in mind, beckoning repeated visits for
darsan till the visitor shuffles off his mortal coil.
