In
consequence, the whole area was inundated making it unfit for
living, and ploughing. It felt sorely despaired, since its joy of
meeting her Lord Ratnakara-the Bay of Bengal was marred, rather
delayed. Then came a bolt from the blue. The miserable humanity
prayed to Lord Maheswar to save them from being swallowed by the
furious river. Lord Maheswar forthwith bade the hills to give free
passage to the river by making openings at their base. Would anyone
dare going against that august bidding? In a flash, tunnel like
large openings were made for the river to go forward. Krishnaveni
then started flowing unimpeded with uproarious sounds.
