As
ordained, beautiful twirls were born - a lovely pearl like girl and a gem of a
baby boy to Kusuma Sreshti and Kusumamba, the ideal couple comparable to Uma and
Maheswar of Mount Kailas. Indispensably it was an auspicious occasion for great
rejoicing throughout the dukedom - there were colourful programmes and gala
ceremonies for a week; for, their birth ushered an era of auspiciousness in the
country and bliss in the royal family due to the birth of legal heir. Wasn't
their ambition rewarded? Out of proportion to speak the truth. Auspicious
functions, such as Namakarna etc. were celebrated with unprecedented fanfare,
making the capital resounded with song and drama.
Gaiety breaking through the palace walls travelled afar and astounded the entire
population, besides making its crescendo reach Mount Kailas, as if to announce
the boon of Santanaprapti munificently granted by Mother Gouri.
