Throwing
a cursory glance at the contents of my Abodes of Gods Series, in 7 volumes,
carrying 101 premier ancient temples strewn across our vast sub-continent -
Bharata Khanda, one elderly gentlemen commented - How is it that you have
totally overlooked the Vasavamba temple at Penugonda; any prejudice for that
immaculate Goddess, the touch-stone of chastity, or are you ignorant of the
monumental sacrifice that Vasavamba made..." To my answer, "I haven't
entertained so far any such bias for any Daivam belonging to any sect, like
Vaishnavam, Saivam, Saktam, Souram, Gaanapatyam and Kaumaram, nor do I write
without seeing the temples at least for a
fleeting moment " cutting in he completed, "First visit and listen to
its legend, and sure you'll regret the lapse of omitting that glorious
shrine". He hurried away towards his car without listening to anything,
although I essayed to post him with the nature of my project, or the progress
made so far. or even work in the offing.
