Implementing the advice to the letter, they led an exemplary
life, following the four-fold asrams, as enjoyed
by the scriptures.
Realizing that Brahmalokaprapti
can be attained through penance, the Vysya munis cleared the thick
forests and made convenient hermitages for doing devotional
activities. They won the appreciation and camaraderie of great
Rishis, like Kasyapa etc. who had settled down there earlier. In
order to attain emancipation, they performed penance fed on air and
light - vayu and tejas for long. Highly gratified with their
austerities.
Lord
Maheswar descended in His Ardhanareeswara form and asked to name their desires.
Humble to the core and divine in spirit, they asked only for Sivasannidhya that
confers mental solace and blissful existence.
Elated
at their divine simplicity, the Lord took them with Him to Kailas forthwith and
arranged for the fulfillment of their ennobling aspiration. They continued to
live there devoting life and time to Saivaaradhana.
