They
were guided good old traditions and enjoyed autocracy, yet
implicitly loyal to Kusuma Sreshti, their feudal lord. The city adorned the pages of legends and
literary
works
with its unenviable records created by the Vysya munis by their
dharmika avocations and sea-fearing activities that raised glory of
Bharat Khand in addition to enriching the state exchequer.
Its
destinies were presided over by Kusuma Sreshti, a simple but sublime
personage with commendable traits; but he was a feudatory chief
only. On account of ever-increasing and unlimited mari-time
activities and flourishing enterprises, it occupied a conspicuous
place in the history map of Akhanda Bharat Khand.
