PATTEPUR - MAISAMMA TEMPLE

It is an ancient Sakti temple dedicated to Maisamma, the trite Telugu equivalent of Mahishasura Mardhini Situated in the midst of valley, blessed with colourful Nature in bounteous beauty, it has an added attraction for visitation by fun-loving youth. They visit more to enjoy the lovely spectacles of Narure than offering prayers Does immaturity ever realise its gravity? On account of plenty of water supply from the springs, it is preferred for picnics and celebration of some auspicious functions. Seeing the steady streams of visitors started mounting, philanthropists have built choultries for the convenience of visiting devotees, who prefer staving overnights. So it is progressing spiritually and aesthetically.

The granite icon of Mahishasura Mardini in consonance with her dreadfully awe-inspiring aspect is quite imposing and tall. Her facial expression strikes terror.
