This is yet another famous Sakti-Peetha, that the state of Andhra Pradesh is
blessed with. Though this is forming an integral pat of Sivaalaya, the Mother is
installed in a separate, independent shrine. But small in size. The granie icon
of archamurti about four feet in height, and is set up on an elegant Vedika. It
is in standing posture and faces north, lying a little further to the
Kukkuteswara Swamy linga facing south. Draped in rustling silks and beautified
with glittering gold jewels along wish colourful garlands, the Mother looks exceedingly
enchanting and wrings veneration at first sight itself. Agamic puja is offered
with due devotional zeal. The periodical festivals celebrated with colour and
pageantry lure huge crowds. A visit to Pithapuram acquaints us with many more
details about this Sakita pitha of eternal significance. It is a moderate town
in the east Godwari distinct of Andhra Pradesh.
