PUTTAPARTHI - SATYABHAMA AALAYAM

This unique moderate shrine is the gift of one devout; bhakta related to Sri Satya Sai Baba of inter-continental fame. And one among the very few its kind extant in the whole of Bharata Khanda. Although the icons of Satyabhama, the naughty, haughty darling of Lord Krishna Bhagavan are installed; in numerous shrines, along with those of Sri Krishna across the country regarding her as the incarnation of Bhudevi, there are no separate individual shrines for her, nor elaborate nityanaimithika worship is offered. Hence uniqueness. This shrine is very popular as Sathyamma temple and is visited invariably by all the pious bhaktas coming for the darsan of Pratyaksha Daivam - Sri Sai Baba. The temple is quite modest in size, but decently adorned. The Mother's icon is three feet in height and bends the heads of the visitors at first sight itself. Daily puja is offered with due rituals and annual festivals are celebrated befitting to the status of the internationally reputed centre of pilgrimage. It is a miss not shrine. It is drawing aliens too The locals endearingly call this as Sathemma devalayam.

It lies in the heart of Puttaparthi, accessible by bus from Ananthapur and neighbouring towns.
