When
effective administration was found lacking in due to meteoric speed of
development, the State Government took over the management in 1953,and it is one
of the biggest temples with good income, better management and best reputation
as a temple where no prayer goes un-rewarded, nor any epidemic nears any place
at here mere mention. Daily puja is offered with unparalleled devotion according
to agama tenets. And among the periodical festivals, Aashada Jatara festival
celebrated in July is the biggest draw and lakhs of people visit this sacred
shrine and worship devoutly with Bonalu-a special feature here. Ladies carry on
their heads pots decorated with flowers and auspicious things and offer them
with prayers. The festival with elephant procession followed by ghatam turns
spectacular and heightens the splendour of the temple and proclaims the Mother's
ineffable glory to the worlds On this occasion, a special feature called 'rangam'
takes place which lures unmana-gaeable crowds. A young woman devotee predicts
the future events of the country and her word proved true hitherto. The festival
has acquired such reputation that people from far off places in thousands visit
necessitating to running of special trains and buses from several parts. Many
voluntary organisations help the Police Department in several ways to make it
success.
It

city bus from any point.
