This
ancient Bengali temple is renowned as the centre of Tantric cult. Though situated
in a small village, Its spiritual eminence
is too high Being modeled on the Bengali mandirs, it is very simple in
architecture and bereft of exquisite sculpture as common with temples of south.
The icon of Taradevi, an incarnation of Mahakali is giving darsan here in fierce
aspect. In its heyday, when Sakti cult reached the zenith of preeminence,
eminent Sakteyas proficient in Tantric cult used to congregate here and taking
decisions for the furtherance of their cult and obtaining Sakti with several
types of prayer services characteristic of their cult. They were offered with
great austerity and the Mother too was blessing in proportion to the dedication.
