The routine prayer services begin with Nirmalyam seva at 5.30 a.m. followed by Dantadhavana pooja and Udayakala puja. The decoration of the MOTHER with flower garlands and dazzling jewels, offered by rich devotees is too grand and wrings veneration. There is then Sri Bali Pradakshana at the end of which Guda Santi, the nectarine prasad is distributed. The elaborate noon pools begins at 11'O clock and goes up to 1'O clock and with Mangalaharati it comes to a close. The Pradosha puja commences at 7 p.m. and it is then the devotional fervour emerges in a spectacular way. The image of Virabhadra is given equal importance in all, as exemplified in offering every puja to him after the sevas in the garbha griha. The Utsavamurthi which is taken round the shrine is brought to Saraswathi Mantap where Mangala hararti and ashtavadana sevas are offered with rituals due. It is a sight to see and an experience to be locked up in memory. The artistes, like vocalists and instrumentalists who come from distant places give their performances. After this the utsavmurthi is taken back to her seat It is now, the famous kashaya thirtham distributed which the tradition says was introduced by Sri Sankara Bhagavatpada. As it has medicinal value, it is greatly craved for and with this the temple remains closed for the day.
