This
centuries old Sakti Kshetra is drawing devotees equally from Tamilnadu and Kerala, as it lies on the border touching Tamil Nadu. It is a hill temple
commanding from its top a panoramic view of the Tamil Nadu. Its high eminence
offers an impressive view of the Nature in its bloom around it and so offers a
royal banquet to the eyes of gay tourists, besides ardent Sakti Vupasakas. The
temple is built in Pandyan style of architecture with a prakra, mahadwara
surmounting a high tower, vast courtyards and many adorable deities installed in
mini-shrines. Regular puja is offered with due devotion to the Mother and the
periodical festivals draw huge crowds from both the states. It is a gala affair
lasting for days.
It
lies 13 km off Thekkady, accessible from Tamil Nadu by bus.
