  PURI - PANCHASAKTHI SHRINE

Sakti Upasana enjoins adoration to five Mahasaktis going by the sacred names of Saraswathi, Gayatri, Savitri, Shashti and Bhuvaneswari. Worship gets completed only on offering prayers to these august mortis Each goddesses has her independent entity and differs from the others in shape, size and appearance, beside wielding powers. And each has her own dominion and portfolio. Each has a distinct upasana although they are the manifestations of Omkaras warupini Adi Parasakti. These Pancha matrukas are installed here and are receiving regular ritualistic worship with due devotional fervour. And there is a belief current that all the visitors must worship them invariably on the yatra trip and the visit becomes complete only when adored. Further to see these august mortis in one place and offering worship is deemed a great fortune obtained at a time. Of course, individually as a matter of fact. Hence the guides take the visitors to this shrine indispensably before leaving the precincts. Locals having realised the significant parts played by them fail not availing their darsan on important festival days, besides their rout-dine visits. Agamic puja is offered as regularly as equality as self.

This lies in the campus of Lord Jagannath temple at Puri, w accessible by bus and train.
