There are two temples here built for the Mother Bhadrakali and Lord Siva going
by the name of Kalakanteswar. They received royal patronage and hence the
dimensions are huge and architectural embellishments are superb. Many pravaktas
and acharyas visited and eulogised the supreme mahima of this Devi. A peculiar
feature discernable here is none stands near the archamurti. Even the priests
touch not any part of the icon. So the decoration in dress or jewellery is done
with the help of a long stick. Such is the awe-some power and position, this
Bhadrakali is exercusing. Regular worship is offered with great devotion. The
annual festival falling in the month of Vaishak is celebrated on a great scale,
luring devotees in huge crowds Special ritualistic poojas offered by the devout
theists then.
