MANGAADU - KAMAKSHI TEMPLE

This pratishta involves ritualistic puja with lavish use of many essential items like chandan, akhil, ghee, camphor, kumkumam, flowers, gorojanam, silajit, Jatamanjari, kachcholam etc., during the installation of Srichakra. Elaborate procedure takes hours for completion but its efficacy is beyond words.

The august icon of Kamakshi is installed behind the Srichakra and it receives first pooja. She blesses the adorers through the Srichakra and every wish of the devotees reaches consummation point, if they meditate, or even utter her sacred name with due reverence. She readily, and surely extends succor, if genuine bhakti is expressed. Realing the sanctity of the place, many traditions were introduced and they are luring the ardent devotees round the year.

It lies about 15 km. off Madras, accessible by four wheelers.
