Chanda
Mundas, the renowned generals of the
danavas were dispatched. Infuriated at their insolent talk, Kousiki knit her
brows and from her forehead came out Kali donned in lion's skin and holding
dreadful weapons in her hands. Alas! the generals were
defeated and their corpses were placed at the feet of the Mother Kausiki.
Then
appeared on the scene Raktabija, a dreadful rakshasa whose drop of blood, if
shed by any in confrontation, obnoxious asuras would be born to aid and abet
him. When Kausiki's efforts to paucity him failed, she created a devi called
Chamunda bidding her to cover the entire field with her out-spread tongue. She
did and made the demon paralysed and killed him instantly. Then appeared on the
scene the two brothers who were destroyed one after another with Varahi and
Maheswari, the two powerful amsas of Kausiki. Thus Kausiki retored peace in
Devaloka. Would daivasakti ever court a failure?
