The
celestial dancer Urvasi is a much adored deity by a section of people, who
practice Siddhi to attain Super-natural powers. And those who crave. for earthly
eminence and supremacy over mundane affairs adore her passionately. And they are
blessed with such sakti by her. Hence building of separate temples for her here
and there.
According
to certain mythologies, this famous dancer serving Indra, the king of devas was
born from the sweat of the left thigh of Bhagawan Narayana. Although those who
desire to master tantric lore are visiting her shrine very often in large
numbers, some out of extreme devotion for Sri Mahavishnu pay homage to the
archamurti too. Its location being in the snow clad mountains, pilgrims visit
only six months in a year, so there is no much expansion.
It
lies near Badrinath temple, accessible by bus only. Needless to say, she deserves
adulation and adoration due to her birth from the thigh of Maha Vishnu, moreover
