This
yogini shrine lies on the bank of Bedaghat, a tributary of Narmada. The focal
point of this shrine was the existence of icons of Yogins resembling human
figures in all parts
from top to toe. They were materialized by Tantric Vidhya. And these Pratimas
are installed in the Gowri Shankar temple that enjoyed great religious
significance. This Gowri Shankar temple is built on a huge and long stone
spreading over a mile distance and its location has a special attraction for the
visitors. The panoramic beauty and the ever flowing gurgling waters lure even the
agnostics who spend hours observing the myriad beauty of the location. Though
the Yogini images were destroyed by iconoclasts some time back, yatris visit in
large number due to the presence of ever adorable highest divinities - Gowri
Shankar.
This
lies 18 km. off Jabalpur, accessible by four wheelers.
