INTRODUCTION:

In the Himalayan region there are several holy kshetras mostly thirtha kshetras due to location on the banks of the tributaries of the Ganges. Each is associated with an awe-some anecdote illustrating the omnicompassion of Mother Parvati, who in multifarious forms and names relieved the devas from the treacherous acts of danavas. There came up later some temples and tanks to commemorating the unforgettable anecdotes. Near Kedarnath temple and its adjoining places there are as many as eight world renowned shrines enshrining several amsas of Mother Parvathi anti each has a distinct name. Let us now throw quick glance and imbibe the divinity pervading in these places. They are spread over a vast region and the yatris proceeding Kedarnath temple can see them all.
