And
at this time, the king of Kundinipura died without heir. Daksha became the
king through the blessings of Mudgala Maharshi. In the mean time, King Bhima and
his wife with the grace of Vishwamitra, was blessed with a son called Rukmangada
after meditating on Vinayaka and chanting Eakakshara mantra. Unfortunately
Rukmangada was affected by Swetakusti vyadi due to a curse of muni patni Mukunda,
when he desired unethical union with her. His pitable plight came to an end with
Narada Maharshi's advice of bathing in Chintamani lake and worshipping Vinayaka.
He did and was rid of his dreadful disease. The lustful munipatni Mukunda gave
birth to a boy born through Indra. He was named Gritasamada. He was a genius and
became a great scholar. He was humiliated by Atri during an intellectual
discussion in the court of Magadharaja, for his mother's sin of liaison with
Indra. He cursed his mother on learning the truth to become a throny plant, but
was retaliated with a curse by her to become the father of Rakshasa. To expiate
the curse, he did penance in the forest called Pushpa propitiating Vinayaka for
6000 years. When the Lord gave darsan, he prayed for the Lord's presence there
for ever to relieving the sokarthis. Pleased with it, the Lord blessed him to
become the founder of Gaanapathya Sampradaya, and added that his son would
become a great scholar, and the forest be called 13hadrak in Ka6yuga attracting
steady streams of pilgrims for liberation on worshipping the Lord.
